Happy Holidays!
Almost a year has gone by, Where has the time gone. Denise remembers being on strict bedrest
and wondering if everything will turn out ok. All the girls can now crawl and are they fast.
We feel like we live in a house of cockroach kids. They scatter for no apparant reason. They
can also stand up on there own as long as they hold on to something. Kind of like we will be doing
when we get the college bill. Bailey can almost stand without holding on to anything. They all
laugh and crack up at each other. Wouldn't you if everyone you looked at looked like you!
They all are eating regular people food and we can say good bye to those nasty jars of baby food.
However they are still on formula but hopefully that will be done soon. They each seem to want to
sleep through the night (8p-6a) now
and then, but not on a regular basis. Since the last update they have been to the mall (Denise is
breaking them in early in their lives), and out to Thanksgiving dinner. Also they went to a
Christmas Eve party at our friends new home. They all have 2 teeth on the bottom, and all are
getting 4 teeth on top, although they are just breaking through. The girls weights are - Bailey:
15.3, Madison: 14.8 and Kylie: 13.6
All the girls are now rolling over
both ways. Madison can almost sit-up on her own. Bailey has found her voice and Kylie
has found her feet. Most of the time they are all good eaters. Kylie loves TV like her mom.
She also seems to sleep throught the night most nights. The other 2 are hit and miss.
All 3 girls have 2 bottom teeth that have popped through. Soon they will be eating
people food, and we can toss those bottles away! The girls weights are - Bailey: 13.05,
Madison: 12.85 and Kylie: 11.4
All the girls are doing well. We tried
giving them rice cereal but they didn't seem to take it well. We will try again in a week
or two. As of today the weights are Bailey - 10.1 lbs, Madison - 9.75 and Kylie - 8.75.
They all have good gripping power, and when they cry, oh boy, it's like a bad symphony. They
are almost sitting up, and they smile alot. As for Mom and Dad, we are not getting much
sleep. Although it seems very close that they will sleep through the night.
Well lots has happened since the last written update. All the girls can now roll
over and lift thier heads up. They still have not slept more than 5 hours in a row. They
are all averaging about 3.5 ounces per feeding. Madison and Bailey have broken
the 8 pound mark, Kylie is around 7 1/4.
Today was Homecoming for Bailey and Madison. We went down to the hospital and went through the
discharge procedure which took about an hour. During that time we took turns holding Kylie as
it was very difficult to leave her behind. We got home and just sat around looking at the kids,
realizing that it won't be quiet in this house again for the next 18 years......
This update will be short because it's almost time for the 2am feeding!
BIG NEWS!
Identical or not? That is the question...
For weeks now we have been telling you that Dr. Treadwell told us that she believed there were
2 amniotic sacs, with two babies in one sac, and one in the other. She based her diagnosis
on a ultrasound taken prior to us being under her care. We always wondered if the girls were
Identical triplets, or Fraternal Triplets. A pathology exam was done after they were born
and the report came back showing the following in layman's terms :
The fact that all three girls shared the same chorion (Monochorionic) means they all had to
start from the same fertilized egg. After the egg was fertilized, it split in two (to form
two amnions, each with it's own cells). One of the group of cells then split again to form
fetuses B and C, who shared the chorion with A and one amnion between the two of them. All
three of them started from the same fertilized egg, therefore making them all identical.
All the girls are doing great. The girls weight's and feeding amount are as follows:
Today Bailey and Madison graduated from an Isolette to an open crib! The next step from here,
is to come home which should hopefully be in the next week or two.
The question that is on everyone's mind is, when are they coming home?
Before the hospital will let the babies come home, they must meet the following conditions:
All the girls are doing well. The girls weight's and feeding amount are as follows:
29 "cc's" is equal to 1 ounce. We were able to feed Madison and Kylie a bottle, however, they
only fed about 5 cc's, the rest was from the tube feeding. They are still too young to understand
how to swallow.
